The 16th Annual MTN SA Music Awards
Prezence provides the digital interface for the MTN South Africa Music Awards.
The 16th annual MTN South Africa Music Awards (SAMA) hosted at Sun City on Saturday 17th April was a roaring success, thanks in part to Prezence Digital, who for the fourth year running not only created the online website, but also built and managed the entire entry, judging and results systems culminating in a show enjoyed by millions all over the world on Saturday night.
The official SAMA website (www.samusicawards.co.za) offered fans and press alike a constant feed of information prior to the event, including weekly blogs, video and music streams, event information and a host of multimedia enhancements. For the first time this year, a specially produced video feed was streamed live via the website allowing fans all over the world to watch what was happening backstage.
The SAMA digital entry, judging and results system was first created by Prezence in 2005, completely revolutionising the way in which the run up to the awards took place. The online entry process starts more than seven months before the actual awards followed by strict vetting processes before the online judging starts. There are over 250 SAMA judges participating needing 24/7 online access to audio streams and scoring progress and submission indicators.
Today, the 16th annual SAMA's is the only major awards show to have a full end-to-end digital entry, judging and results systems. In addition to extremely high security, all Prezence built systems enable ease of use for Record Companies, Judges and all participants throughout the process and produces faultless audited results year after year.
'Being an integral part of the SAMAs is an incredible honour for the Prezence team. We have created innovative technology with zero margin for error to further promote the unquestionable integrity and success of the awards. The amazing show on Saturday was a great testament to all those involved in making the 16th Annual MTN Annual SA Music Awards a truly world class event' says Tim Bishop, CEO of Prezence Digital.
