WEG!

The South African premier travel publication WEG! and its English sister magazine, GO!, wanted to extend their reach and interaction with their readers by enhancing their offering online. For instance, an article on the Karoo in the magazine could include two or three pictures but users can go online to see 200 to 300 photos, watch videos, submit their own take on the location and share their stories and memories.

Prezence designed and developed the new WEG! content-rich website which is maintained via a customised Content Management System with user content generation functionality for the very active online community.

Users can register on the site to access exclusive content which allows WEG! to perform end-to-end consumer profiling, interaction and engagement. This superior data profiling enables WEG! to effectively understand their readers with direct benefit to the consumer. The site is heavily focused on user-generated content and registered users can list their big five, share recipes, write travel stories, upload pics, chat and enter competitions.

The site also features info on back roads and great drives that include towns, reserves and outdoor activities. Users can complete online photo puzzles and send ecards featuring photos on the site to their friends. Previous editions of the magazine are available online and all articles are searchable.

It's an incredible resource and content-rich website with a News and Events calendar, Travel Trips, Maps and Guides, Voting Polls and a full magazine Subscription Centre.

The site was built in such a way as to easily deploy an English language version for the English version of the publication, GO!
