Retrench Yourself!
Retrenchyourself.com was a campaign site for Savanna where loyal Savanna fans could enter a competition to win a R15 000 salary every month for 5 and a half years!
Users had several opportunities to enter the competition - via sms (set up on Prezence’s i-SMS sytem), online via the website or on-air on various regional radio stations. Finalists for the grand prize draw were selected from each of these entry mechanisms.
On the website users had to clock in by setting up a profile and start wasting time with a view to retrenching themselves and winning the prize! Users could also share their trumped up image on Facebook.
The homepage of the site featured an Employee of the month, how much time was wasted per day and in total, as well as Savanna party events information.
The website offers a rich User Generated Content and interactive experience, where among other things users could access:
- The Retrencher where users could generate their own personalised retrenchment letter and send the humorous result to their boss!
- The Boredroom where users could submit their hilarious time wasting efforts in the form of photos (picture an image a colleague’s mouse in a jello mould!) for other users to view, comment on and rate.
- The Chariman's Forum where Retrench Yourself users could submit challenges to fellow users who could rate and comment on challenges. Challenges included adding food colouring to the water cooler, sending a rude email to the boss from a colleague’s email address and unscrewing office chair wheels and putting them on bricks!
- The site also featured customised time wasting Savanna games including bubble wrap pop and online yo-yoing which were also incorporated into online rich media banner creatives. The games and banners contained viral marketing functionality where users could challenge a friend.

Volcano, lead agency for Sony Southern Africa, appointed Prezence as their digital partner for the development of the Sony Profoto Awards website. -
In The Lemon Light
Savanna, a popular South African cider, has managed through quirky advertising to establish a cult-like following. Savanna loyalists often go as far as to pitch their own Savanna ads, so by using material from the latest TV ad, Prezence created a campaign microsite where consumers were given the chance to make their own Savanna ads online. -
Merseystate
The Merseystate website promotes the music of South African band Merseystate and features an animated street scene with clickable billboards that bring up the various content sections. -
A Million Faces
Prezence are behind the innovative digital campaign for much loved local band, Watershed, and launched the novel online and mobi platform for the South African supergroup in celebration of their forthcoming 10-year anniversary hits album. -
MTV Portal and CMS
Prezence redeveloped the entire MTV base portal and Content Management System.
