Ster-Kinekor
The Ster-Kinekor site was developed by Prezence SA with 100 percent Flash 6 plug-in compatibility (authored in Flash 8) for maximum penetration in the South African market.
Built for speed and flexibility (even over 56k connections), 98 percent of Ster-Kinekor site content is dynamic which is driven by a powerful Content Management System that allows Ster-Kinekor to quickly and easily add or edit their movie titles and site features.
Flash has also enabled the streaming of trailers for any connection speed using Flash 6 video compression, however we will be using smart detection to deliver videos of a higher quality (using 8's ON2 codecs) in the very near future for those with higher Flash version plug-ins.
Performances and the dynamic content on the site are driven by SK's nationwide live movie scheduler enabling site users to quickly and easily find their movie info, trailers and times. Cinema schedules are always up to date and only display available performances.
Prezence also revolutionised Ster-Kinekor’s online booking engine and payment system which has had a huge impact on online ticket sales. Seats can be selected in a virtual cinema quickly and easily, and can be booked and paid for instantly.
Prezence also integrated a customised comprehensive profiling engine allowing all Movie Club Members to log in to their profile and amend their details and communications options. Any user can also create a new profile where they can opt-in for Ster-Kinekor communications.
